Rules
General Rules and Policy
Texas Twister Raceway would like to welcome you to our track. We are approximately 873 ft on outside and 732 ft on the inside. We are an oval track with clay surface. The corners are banked at 7 and 10 degrees. We have a very nice and clean facility. We also have complete concession stand, full working restrooms. Our pit area is very large. We also will be selling fuel (we do not supply anymore but it will be here for sale.) Our goal is to have the best track in the state of Texas. In order to have the best racing, we have to have a good set of rules and policies. Texas Twister Raceway has elected to use the rules and policies from IKF. We reserve the right to change any rule/rules in accordance with the 102.4 rule change enactments: rules go into effect 30 days after the publication date of the karter news.
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for orderly conduct of racing events, also to establish minimum acceptable requirements for said events. All participants are deemed to have to comply with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall results form publication of our compliance with these rules or policies. Said rules and policies are intended as a guide for the conduct for the sport of racing, and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.
The race director/owner (Milton Doss) will be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specification herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result in such alteration on specifications. Any interpretations or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. There decision is FINAL PERIOD!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

TIRE POLICY
Texas Twister Raceway has elected to have a Spec Tire Program.
The tire of choice is Burris Racing Tires.
We have no specific size requirement.
PROHIBITED PRACTICES
Texas Twister Raceway will not tolerate any drugs, alcoholic beverages, profane language, arguing or fighting. Non-Compliance may result in disqualification and/or suspension.
Texas Twister Raceway will not tolerate any complaining with track official or Flagman. Track officials and Flagman will have the last word in ANY decision NO EXCEPTION!!!! There will not be any instant replays. Officials will discuss the matter (s) after races are over, NOT During the race. Non-compliance may result in disqualification and/or suspension.
RAIN POLICY
If rain begins before heat races are finished, the race will be stopped and called a rainout. No money will be refunded but will receive rain check. If heat races are complete, but rain starts before main event, drivers will be awarded points and payout. This will be considered a full race day.
PROTESTING
$75.00
Texas Twister Raceway reserves the right to protest any engine and/or driver and kart during any race day. There will be a teching as per IKF rules and all IKF classes.
Any protesters must let track officials know he/she want to protest along with $75.00 before main event is over.
If protested engine is legal owner and driver will receive $50.00 of fee and the track will take $25.00 for the tech person.
If protested engine is illegal (i.e. parts added for performance gain) owner and/or driver will loose points for that day’s race along with the payout. If same kart found illegal more than once, owner/driver could be suspended from the track for remainder of season. Protester will be returned $50.00 fee and track retain $25.00 for tech person; all decisions are NON reversible and FINAL!!!!!

Red or Yellow on 1st lap, race will be restarted.
After the White flag is thrown there will be no caution (Yellow) thrown.
All restarts will be single file except for start and 1st lap restart. Know where you are supposed to be in the line up. There will be NO line up boards available after on the track.
Pole karts set the pace. Everyone must keep up.
SAFETY
Texas Twister Raceway’s prime consideration is Safety. IKF safety rules are in effect. PITS ARE DEAD!!!!
1. All drivers must wear FULL face helmets, necks braces, gloves, driving suit and/or pants, long sleeve shirt/jacket at all times while driving. Long hair must be secured under helmet.
2. Brakes must be in PROPER and safe working condition at all times
3. All karts have properly working throttle with return device.
4. All karts must have front and rear bumpers with side nerf rails which do not impose a hazard to other racers.
5. All body work must be attached to the kart in such a way that they won’t impose a hazard to other racers.
6. All karts must have adequate chain guards.
7. No exhaust will stick out past the rear bumper. Mufflers are REQUIRED!!!
8. Any practice or hot laps will be allowed by track officials only!
9. Only drivers with karts will be allowed on grid and track. No one will be allowed in the infield with out permission form track official.
10. During practice all stopped or stalled karts must be started on the starting grid. DO NOT RESTART ON TRACK!
11. All drivers must be able to drive and compete safely in the class they are racing in. With no unnecessary hazard to fellow racers. If driver can not compete safely in the class that they are racing in, they will be asked to either mover to a lower class or black-flagged for remainder of the race day. All decisions concerning this matter will be made by track officials only.
12. No karts will exceed 5mph exiting the track and will take the appropriate exit.
13. After the 1st lap is complete by pole kart there will be no complete restarts for any reason. If kart dies or have mechanical problems, said kart will be out of the race and moved to the in field with an official by them. Then the race will resume in single file. If 1st lap has not been completed, all karts will move to a complete restart and you will be allowed to restart if needed.
14. Any drivers, who intentionally disable his/her kart (i.e. kills engine or spins out, ECT) prior to completion to the 1st lap, will be moved to the rear of the pack. This determination is solely up to the track officials and will be FINAL NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
15. All drivers that are involved in an accident that result in a RED flag after 1st lap is completed will be sent to the rear and remainder of the karts will line up single file restart in the order they crossed the finish line and /or previous lap and race will restart.
16. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
17. Anyone who exits his/her kart on the track or walks on the track from the pit area and disputes any part of the race for ANY reason will disqualify the kart and driver they are associated with for that race.
18. If you have problem with the line up, talk to us after the race is over, NOT DURING THE RACE. Track officials will not argue the point while other karts are idling and over heating on the track.
GENERAL TRACK RULES
1. Drivers will be responsible for their conduct and all associated with them while at the track.
2. Any problem will be handled by track officials and dealt with at the time of the problem.
3. No glass containers will be allowed in pits, racing, or spectator area.
4. All pets must be on a leash or in a cage at all times.
5. All protests must be per protesting rules.
6. The track reserves the right to ask anyone to leave at anytime for any reason.
7. No one will be allowed on track without race official opening the track!! PERIOD!!!!
8. All classes will practice with their class ONLY!
9. Drivers can race only the kart he/she has entered in the class. Drivers can not change karts or motors with out track officials okay.
10. All karts must have Front, Side, and Rear number plate. It has to have a White back ground with Black numbers and/or letters.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
11. All tech karts and motors will be preformed by track official or appointed people. The track has the FINAL say on tech of karts and motors. If any driver refuses to allow the fuel or engine to be tech inspected by the track, that individual will be illegal and ask to get engine legal by next race day. This will result in no Pay out if in the top 3.
12. Once racing has begun, late entries will have to start on the rear of the heat races.
13. Each driver must report to the starting grid when called. No waiting unless you have seen and talked to an official. Failure to report will be the loss of that race for said kart/driver, once gate is closed.
14. There will be NO YELLING at the flagman or any track official during race, all flagman calls and signals will be OBEYED WITH OUT QUESTIONS!!!
